She was arrested, officer said. Mafatlal Luxury president and famous socialites Sheetal Mafatlal was under arrest by customs at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) Sunday after allegedly under confirmed diamond-studded jewelry was reported to be value over Rs 1 crore.

"Mafatlal had diamond-studded gold jewelry that she had said was worth Rs 30 lakh. Because we suspect that the costs are much higher, we detained her and the process to measure the exact price of the jewelry is in progress," says an official from the Air Intelligence Unit Customs.

Mafatlal, who had come to town with a British Airways flight, landed on Sunday afternoon and were immediately detained by officials. She kept in custody throughout the evening that officials estimated the value of the jewelry she had. The apparently had a tip-off that she was in possession of diamonds worth Rs 1 crore. Details about the charges against her are not yet published.

The Mafatlals have been caught in a controversial feud over the division of family property to the last few years. Sheetal, who is married with Atulya Mafatlal, has shied away from social functions and the Page 3 circuit since the tussle between him and his mother Madhuri was released.
