INDIAN NURSING COUNCIL

The Indian Nursing Council is a constitutional body constituted below the Indian Nursing Council Act, in the year of 947. The responsibility of this committee is for rule, regulation and preservation of a uniform normal of they can give training for Nurses, Midwives, Auxiliary Nurse-Midwives and Fitness Company.

The committee prescribes the program and regulations for different nursing course. The examination of Nursing Schools and the center of Examination are complete to maintain consistency and the necessary standard of Nursing Education in the country. For the duration of the year 1998-99, 81 nursing institutions were propose for examination; out of which 61 Nursing Institutes that is, includes, eight Colleges of Nursing were inspect.

The Council celebrated the opening function of the Golden anniversary of the Dental committee of India at Mumbai on 21 September 1998, which is installing by the Hon'ble Minister of State for Health and Family interests.

For the duration of the one year, General Body of the committee meeting is hold 17th & 18th of April 1998 and 21st to 23rd Sep. 1998. Executive Committee meeting is holding on 16.4.98, 20 - 21.6.98, 1 - 3.8.98 and 17 - 18.9.98. Dental teaching Committee meeting is holding on 19.04.1998.

According to the information of the Indian Nursing Council, the overall number of capable nursing workers in the State Registers up to 31 Dec. 1996 is as follows:
Nurses-5, 65,696, Auxiliary Nursing & Midwives-2, 83,168, Health Visitors-26,578
