The country's first ever Gadget Awards were held on April 29, 2009 in New Delhi. In an effort to hunt for the best from the world of technology, some of the most innovative and feature-rich gadgets were awarded at the ceremony.

As part of the grand event, Shibani Sharma Khanna, Channel Head, NDTV GoodTimes (left) and Smeeta Chakrabarty, CEO, NDTV Lifestyle Limited (right) were present in the audience. These were the first ever awards to accolade the coolest gadgets capturing the greatest aspiration of an urban Indian.
The space of Consumer Electronics and Technology is set to reach $16 billion by 2012 and is a cause for rising levels of disposable income and diminishing grey markets in the country. Techlife comes in the wake of acknowledging the same; exploring the best gadgets. Ad filmmaker and lyricist, Prasoon Joshi, actor Abhishek Bachchan, and NDTV's Vikram Chandra and Rajiv Makhni share the stage, doing what they do best. giving the audience a dose of humour and their humble opinions on the hottest and coolest gadgets!
Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan was also one of the guests at the event. Accompanying him was his sister Shweta Nanda.
