Leona Lewis swaps her scruffy two-bed flat in the sunshine

Leona Lewis swaps her scruffy two-bed flat for a £1.5m villa in the sunshine

The luxuriousness of £ 1.5million assets will certainly make a change from £ 120,000 two-bedroom flat in Hackney, she bought last year with her boyfriend, electrician Lou Al-Chamaa.

Having won The X Factor, Leona Lewis insisted she would wait there for her East End roots. Maybe Leona Lewis will be tucking in some jellied eels as she soaks up Sunday by the pool in her new Hollywood home.

Miss Lewis eventually settled on the five bedroom home, after being shown around a couple months ago and she is now leasing it to a price of $ 7000 a month.

The 24-year-old singer moved into the house several weeks ago, and plans to jet back and forth regularly between London and Los Angeles. Her house in the Hollywood Hills is only a couple miles from the £ 10million mansion her mentor Simon Cowell. It has its own swimming pool and outside bar, while the inside of the property has been equipped with flat screen TVs and leather sofa.

The move comes as a surprise that Miss Lewis said at the end of last year that she could not bear to uproot from the United Kingdom.

"It's really private and the neighbors are cool, and it is very close to Mom and Dad". It is also understood that Miss Lewis has been concerned about a fan who was after her and waiting outside her new home. In 2006, the former Pizza Hut waitress won the third series of The X Factor and became a £ 1million recording contract with Cowell's label.
