Sania-Bhupathi win mixed doubles title

Indian pair Sania Mirza and Mahesh Bhupathi won the mixed doubles title at Australian Open, combat Nathalie Dechy and Andy Ram on Sunday. Mahesh Bhupathi and Sania Mirza celebrate winning their mixed doubles final in Melbourne.The Indian duo turned Dechy and Ram in straight sets 6-3, 6-1.
Thus, Sania Mirza has become the first Indian woman to win the senior Grand Slam tournament. Mahesh Bhupathi has made his seventh Grand Slam mixed doubles titles under his belt with different partners, while toto, he won his 11 Grand Slam titles.

His last Grand Slam mixed doubles was also the Australian Open in 2006 when he collaborates
Swiss Martina Hingis. In the semi-finals, Sania Mirza and Mahesh Bhupathi overcame a sluggish start to fly in the finals for the second year in a row, as they did the Czechs Iveta Benesova and Lukas DlouhĂ˝ in straight sets Friday.
