Grand Ole Opry inductee and American Idol winner, Carrie Underwood performed a duet with country music legend, Randy Travis and returned during last night’s success result show. Carrie Underwood's American Idol crossing gets retraced; she really owes it all to Simon, he totally pushed for her in season four and made her go from a farm girl to country's hottest star.
Carrie Underwood comes out in a attractive red dress with a little bow or something on it and a bow in her hair, singing a duet with Randy Travis.
Randy says he had enjoyable being a adviser; big smile. First time they've sung this duet together live Ryan says, "I Told You So."
Man, she really has quite a voice; just the right twangs, very sincere, every word enunciated, and soars amazingly on the chorus. Randy's sitting next to her on a stool playing the guitar; audience is totally quiet, listening. He's watching her carefully as he strums along, a total pro.
He comes in on the second part; gets a 10-second solo before she harmonizes. He's got such a gentle, easy voice; really like it. This is definitely one of the best performances we've seen on the show; nothing like some of the embarrassments of past seasons with over-the-hill singers....
