New DSC-G3 Sony Cyber-Shot Digital Camera is launched

just introduced Cyber-shot DSC-G3 basically takes the company's earlier released T700, sticks it in a new body, and adds Wireless functionality. This means that every benefit and difficulty that we had with the T700 might still exist, from the troubled touch-screen to the below average test concert. We were very impressed by the ease of use of the Wi-Fi, and its ability to browse any website and connect to any paid service, as well as its slick look, comfortable handling and 4GB internal memory. The G3 has a 10-megapixel sensor, 4x zoom and is available right now for $499.95.Sony Cyber-shot DSC-G3 Digital Camera First ..

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-G3 is an irrefutably sleek little camera. While closed, it looks like a tiny sliver of black (though it looks slightly blue in our photographs), which you then open by pulling it out straight. This expose the lens in the upper left, as well as the flash and auto focus assist lamp. It also adds additional area for you to grasp, and makes the camera easier to hold. On the whole, the G3 feels solidly constructed, but the buttons are all almost go red with the device, and barely discourage at all, which doesn't make for a very concrete experience.Sony Cyber-shot DSC-G3 Digital Camera First ..

LCD Screen

Sony has a tradition of making LCDs that have an almost nonsensical level of resolution, and the DSC-G3 is no immunity. It squeezes 921,000 pixels into 3.5" of diagonal space. However, most of the menu system felt like it didn't take proper accounting for this high resolution, as it looks fluffy Since the LCD is the primary method of interface for the camera, a lot rides on its abilities to respond correctly, quickly and exactly to your inputs. Unfortunately, we found that the Sony didn't quite live up to the hopes we had. Part of this comes from the fact that it's a resistive touch screen, which means it needs to be re-calibrated regularly, and requires a stylus if you have anything but the supreme of fingers. The touch screen system is also quite slow, which means you don't always know if you've pressed something as it takes a second to process, so you may accidentally press a couple of times trying to get it to respond.
