Intel has unveiled two new Atom processors, the Z550 and Z515, both to quickly expanding MID (Mobile Internet Device) for space at the Intel Developer Forum in Beijing.
Intel has expanded its family of Silverthorne Atom Atom Z550 processor that runs at a clock speed of 2GHz. Intel low-power single-core processor code-named Silverthorne is designed for ultra-mobile PCs and Mobile Internet Devices. The new processor Z550 is different from the Atom Z530 found in MSI or Fujitsu LifeBook U110/U115.
The other Intel Atom Z515 processor running at clock speed of Intel's 1.2 GHz and integrates the new technology Burst performance that allows the processor to operate at high speed when needed. Basically, the Atom Z515 is designed for ultra-smooth MIDs.
Anand Chandrasekher, Intel Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Ultra Mobility Group, also stated that the architecture of Nehalem processors on the Calpella platform for notebooks will be available later this year. The new platform Calpella processors integrate Intel Hyper Threading technology and Intel Turbo Boost.
