Kangana Ranaut is set to go into the shoes of yesteryear actress Madhubala and beautiful Diva for a movie role.
Director Milan Luthria next film has many characters plucked from real life. The title Once upon a Time In Mumbai, the film tells the story of underworld gangster Haji Mastans in 1960. Ajay Devgan will play Mastans while Kangana Ranaut has been roped in to play a politician Mastans was romantically interested in.
Madhubala was Mastans actress was rumored to have had a soft spot for. Apparently, Luthria considered yelling in Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra for the role, but eventually went to Kangana who coincidentally, played a gangster's love interest in her debut film Gangster.
"There was a time", will also have Kangana's' Gangster 'co-star Emraan Hashmi to play Dawood Ibrahim as the young gradually take over management of the world from Mastans. The film will be produced by Ekta Kapoor. Shooting is expected to begin from April this year.
