Mexico Races to Stop Deadly Flu Virus

Mexican people have used surgical masks. The military man handed out in the streets. Margaret Chan who head of WHO, broke a visit in Washington to go back to group headquarters in Switzerland to organize a response to the urgent situation.
Officials from WHO said the virus from 12 of the Mexican patients were the same hereditarily as a new strain of swine flu, designated H1N1, seen in eight people in California and Texas who later improved.
The symptoms were reported as mild. A city health official said he did not speculate about which flu strain was responsible. Health officials were investigating what had sickened scores of students who fell sick with flu-like symptoms in the Queens high school Thursday and Friday in New York City.

The fact most of the fatalities were aged between 25 and 45 was seen as a worrying sign associated with pandemics, such as seasonal work flu tends to be more deadly among the elderly and very young.
